Note: I get frequent interruptions during most of the day. I often use brainstorming and freewriting to get my initial thoughts down, and then come back and refine as time permits. Don't assume a post is in its final version. Take note of the last edit time stamp on the post to get an idea of whether the post is a work in progress.
Upon my return to JO in late 2020 I quickly connected with several old time players and a couple of former Novaworld Moderators. Catching up with old friends was great, but I did notice a concerning trend with some folks. A couple of J4F members voiced concerns about the new guy Flatliner. (New, top performer, you know...) To make a long story short Flat turned out to be an old player scoring consistently for decades. He is clean. Only, this wasn't the answer J4F wanted to hear. J4F began a subtle divide and conquer campaign that became increasingly aggressive; throwing reason to the wind. After siding with the truth and rejecting attempts to get me to play in the J4F server I observed the J4F members change to much darker tactics. They behaved one way to my face and another behind my back. (Two Face) I started getting attacked by people using random names over subjects of disagreement I had with the J4F guys, and because I refuse to hate the people they tell me to hate. Dark, dishonest, back alley dealing is how these guys operate. Dishonorable people hate the light.
I'm not afraid of the light. I'm not afraid to reveal where I stand on an issue under my known name. I don't whisper behind people's backs or attack people I disagree with under random names. I'm honest about who I am and what I believe, and I can back up my position with more than hot air. I'm not a hypocrite who ignores his own standards when a friend is involved. (FN FNX.45) I'm not like these J4F guys at all. This thread is the light J4F hates.
I purchased Joint Operations Typhoon Rising in the summer of 2004. Prior to Escalation being released. I was still very new to the game when Escalation was released, but I purchased escalation within days of its release.
My first Account name created was Wally6821. Later I purchased accounts for many of the family members I thought might like to game. The kids in the family wanted their own squad so I created the FOK squad. FOK = Friends of Keith.
Keith is my nephew. (player name keithy) He was diagnosed with leukemia when he was 5 years old. He underwent 3.5 years of chemotherapy. Playing games was his favorite way to pass the time. He was very limited in what activity he could do.
Wally6821 -FOK- (my first account & character created in the summer of 2004)
XXL71 (2nd acct & character) Created because XXL RAM1500 invited me to play with his squad.
Frank0cean FYC (2nd acct 3rd character) I was invited to FYC when XXL squad closed.
T00 L8 (3rd acct 4th primary character) Created after my return to JO after a 7 year break from the game. (life got busy)
I have also created and played under a few temporary characters created on other family member accounts over the years. (such as 2l8 on the Moose Lips account) Nobody in my family has ever had a gaming account banned or suspended. Not at Nova or anywhere else. We have always played clean. None of us were immune to Nova's rules. We got along with Nova because we obeyed their rules.
I started with Nova before the Beta forums we now use. The forums were green and black then. The front page sported Nova's ban list for all to see. Nova accounts created before Beta have the VIP designation in their forum posts.

Back in the day I was known by many as the source of the punkbuster "pbag" (unable to update) error FIX. Some people couldn't update punkbuster and some could. Those who couldn't didn't get to play. Nova blamed Punkbuster. Punkbuster was slow to find a fix because not everyone was affected. Some of my family members were affected and some weren't. I discovered that taking the punkbuster files from a working system and putting them on a broken system fixed the problem. So I zipped up a working set of punkbuster files and uploaded them to the FOK website as a PB fix. Before long I was being contacted by many other squads asking permission to redistribute the zip file on their own squad web sites. Of course, I gave permission to all. We gotta play JO. The punkbuster problem lasted about a year if I remember correctly. That zip file went EVERYWHERE. Probably my largest contribution to the game aside from a few small CQB maps I created for FOK; and subsequently shared with a few other players who requested them. I also played a small part in helping to keep the games clean.
I later came to know some of the moderators and staff at Nova. One moderator told me I should have signed up for the moderator program. I never did, however, I did do my part in submitting cheat reports after receiving instruction from staff and moderation on how to hunt and spot cheaters. I learned well as 96% of my cheat reports ended in account suspensions after Nova verified my report. (Many cheaters caught were repeat offenders testing updated hacks)
This is where I came from. Where I started and where I've been. A few people talked me into trying other games, but I didn't stick with any of them for long. I never found another game I like as much as Joint Operations.
My first account suffered the dreaded random reset in Feb 2023.
Nova's Random Reset is a known phenomena occurring at Novaworld:
Yeah... just look at what it did to Keltec!!! Before Pic
After Pic

Here is a look at a prolific serial hack getting POPPED.
Nova had a multi-layered anti-cheat PROGRAM.
Punkbuster was the front end that everyone knew about and that hackers fought against.
The back end was a powerful and stealthy in-house cheat detection and removal program that few outside of Nova knew about with the exception of the existence of moderators.
As Nova support dwindled punkbuster was eliminated. They continued the in-house back end until John Garcia started looking for a buyer. The in-house back end dwindled and terminated shortly after the close of the moderator program.
BUT... here's a SS of Maximus pretending he knows it all. (105 years lol. Is FN's time included in that? You are a riot Max. More important, you have ZERO time or training with Nova. You forgot to mention that)
It takes the professionals a lot of work and powerful tools to determine who is and isn't cheating. Your knowledge of the game is from the perspective of a player Max. If you had a fraction of the competence in determining who cheats as you THINK you do you would have never allowed FN, one of this games most prolific cheaters, to join your squad. You have other players on your squad who have been caught cheating, but none with a cheating history remotely as bad as FN's history. You call legitimate players cheaters, and then you invite real hackers to join your squad. Not a good record if you want to be honest about it. (not that honesty is important when it stands in the way of a J4F objective)
Your squad claims that J4F parting with FN had nothing to do with cheating; while you distanced yourselves from FN with the explanation that you knew nothing of his behavior in this community. I'll tell you something... I know more than I reveal and I know you guys know more about FN than you let on. I'm not willing to prove this statement at this time given the trouble it will start for others, but you should make sure your own house is clean before you start pointing fingers at others.
More on FN, and some inside info on Nova's back end cheat detection and removal program.
Here I am working with Wupass behind the scenes dealing with cheats.
GOT BACKBONE? I do & I make no apologies for it. I came here to play a game not to trade my integrity for a few dishonest J4F friends.
Nookie was publicaly calling a J4F member two faced in discord back in August of 2023. He was speaking to Fallen Man. (He was SPOT ON wasn't he?)
